On 28th July 2010, a delegation of students and teachers visited the Cisco Global Development Center, Bangalore which is the largest of its kind outside the United States.
The trip was organized by the Computer Science Department with great assistance from Mrs Pallavi Arora and the management of CISCO. Its main aim was to equip the students with information about latest technologies and business opportunities.
On their campus we were introduced to a very warm staff who took us around their vast campus and demonstrated the use of many of their products. The students were exposed to first-hand usage of many of their solutions like Telepresence and Webex and their implementations in various different scenarios.
The trip was a very successful one as it fulfilled its motive of inspiring the students to think big and out-of-the-box and try to innovate and come up with ideas which maybe beneficial to the world at large.
CISCO's belief is that the innovative application of technology can have a positive impact on a country's competitiveness, diversification of its industry base, its ability to create jobs and improve quality of life for its citizens and through their elaborate and unique presentations and demonstrations the students and teachers learnt just that.
We at Cottons' would like to express our deepest gratitude to the authorities at CISCO to facilitate such a field trip that was both educational and fun.
