The Elphick Research Centre
The Elphick Research Centre is spread over four floors measuring 10, 647 sq.ft. Built at a cost of Rs. 2 crore, this impressive building houses the physics, chemistry, biology and computer science laboratories.
A lot of care and attention has gone into the designing of this Research Centre, taking into consideration a conducive working atmosphere, maximising available instruction technology and maintaining high standards of safety.
There are separate storage and preparation areas for the laboratories, a centralised public address system covering the entire building and emergency safety exit systems in each floor. To minimise pollution in the chemistry lab, an advanced process called semi-microanalysis has been adopted. This is generally done only at undergraduate level. An aquarium and working models in the biology laboratory enhance learning.
The computer lab is equipped with the latest equipment. Teaching here is done by means of a projector. The structured system of learning is at par with any training provided in the corporate sector.
